Thursday 20th November - walk **** – Trimley Churches to Trimley
Foreshore – Sunny and cold!
The cold continues but it is sunny today, Mag does her early walk, I give
it a miss but as we haven’t been on a picnic lately I got the rolls out
of the freezer before breakfast. Then exercises before packing lunch and
heading out around 12.30 parking at the Trimley Churches we set off down
Gun Lane to the huge green footbridge over the railway line! Across the
fields which are a little slippery and down the lane past Loompit Lake to
the lovely Trimley foreshore with the tide high but dropping quickly having
spotted a pair of buzzards enroute:) There are loads of waders and geese
making the mst of the freshly exposed mud as we walk along the beach with a
good breeze blowing from the west, it would have been a good foiling day if
it was not so cold! Our plan was to sit on the most uncomfortable seat but
with one of the best views up the Orwell but the wind was right in our
faces and too much for lunch so we found a nice spot down on the beach
where the breeze was lighter! Then after a lovely restful picnic we walked
back up the hill, past the fishing lakes to the level crossing in time to
see a container train, back across the footbridge and the van, a top walk
in the lovely cold sunshine:)
